Uploading and updating a site

You can use either the incremental method or the modified-item method for both first-time uploads and subsequent updates.

To upload a site to an FTP server:

1. Open the site and connect to the FTP server. (See Connecting to an FTP server.)

Note: Four different commands are associated with the Upload button . You might need to change the command to the type of upload you want to perform. To check the current command, move the pointer over the Upload button to display its tool tip. If you need to change the button command, click and hold the mouse button until the Upload button menu appears, then choose another command.

2. Do one of the following:
• Click the Incremental Upload button on the toolbar, or choose Site > FTP Server > Incremental Upload.
• Click the Upload Modified Items button on the toolbar or choose Site > FTP Server > Upload Modified Items, review the files to be uploaded in the Update Site dialog, and then click OK.
• Select the folder or individual files to upload in the Files tab, and click the Upload Selection button on the toolbar or choose Site > FTP Server > Upload Selection.
3. If the Upload Options dialog box appears, review the options and make changes as needed. The changes you make apply to the current upload only.
4. Click OK. (See Setting upload options.)

To upload selected files manually:

1. Select the desired file or folder in the Files tab of the site window.
2. Drag the file or folder into the desired location in the FTP tab.
