- Using Spartan Essential and the data in Table 3.2 of Whitfield, create pdb files for dodecapeptides that illustrate the the following types of secondary structure:
- alpha-helix
- parallel beta-strand
- antiparallel beta-strand
- 310-helix
- pi-helix
- polyproline II - helix
- Use polyalanine for all of these models except the polyproline II helix. (Use polyproline to illustrate the polyproline II helix.)
- With these pdb files, create a web page that shows off each of these secondary structural elements using Jmol.
- Using Excel, create a Phi-Psi plot that shows the location of each of these secondary structural elements on this plot. Create a gif image of this plot and included as an image on your web page along with the Jmol image showing the 3-D models.
