Conserving battery power
You can set your portable computer to conserve battery power so you can work for longer periods of time before recharging the battery.
You can do this by

using the Energy Use slider in the Energy Saver control panel |

using the Energy Settings section of the Control Strip

choosing Sleep from the Special menu |

Tip: To conserve the most battery power when using a portable computer, use the Sleep Setup section of the Energy Saver control panel as follows: |

Set your computer's display to minimum brightness. |
| • |
Set your computer to sleep after being inactive for 5 minutes or less. |
| • |
Set the display to turn off after a short interval. |
| • |
Set the hard disk to spin down after a short time. |

If you don't see the options:

Click Show Details in the Energy Saver control panel. |
