Configuring individual sleep settings

You can save energy by setting your computer's display or monitor and its hard disk to sleep at separate time intervals. You do this in the Sleep Setup section of the Energy Saver control panel.

To adjust your computer's energy use, use the Energy Use slider in the Energy Saver control panel.

Open the Energy Saver control panel for me.

Tip: Drag the slider to Better Performance when your computer is plugged into an AC power source.

If you don't see the Energy Use slider:
    Click the Hide Details button.

If you don't see the sliders for display and hard disk sleep in the control panel:
    Click the Show Details button.
