Apple menu
You can make items on your computer easy to find and open by adding them to the Apple menu. When you want to open one of these items, you simply choose its name from the Apple menu. You can add any item (such as a program, disk, document, or folder) to the Apple menu. Adding and removing items in the Apple menu To add or remove an item in the Apple menu, drag the item (or its alias) into or out of the Apple Menu Items folder (in the System Folder).
Submenus When submenus are turned on, the contents of each folder in the Apple Menu Items folder are listed in a submenu of the Apple menu. To turn submenus on and off, use the Apple Menu Options control panel.
Recently used items Three special choices in the Apple menu provide submenus that show recently used documents, applications, and servers. To show or hide "recently used items" submenus, and to specify how many items appear in each of the submenus, use the Apple Menu Options control panel.
