Support for OpenGL

OpenGL enables your Macintosh to display accelerated three-dimensional graphics using applications designed to take advantage of OpenGL. It brings a powerful 3D gaming experience to the Macintosh platform and makes 3D game titles more real, more powerful, and more fun.

Apple has licensed the OpenGL graphics application programming interface (API) from Silicon Graphics, and has integrated it into the Macintosh operating system.

OpenGL is the only truly open, vendor-neutral, multiplatform graphics standard with broad industry support.
