In a text document or text frame, you can transform text into a table, and you can convert an inline table to text.

Converting text into a table

To convert text into a table:

1	Prepare the text by inserting paragraph returns for rows and tabs for columns.
2	Select the text.
3	Choose Convert To Table from the Table menu.
	Note: The new table is an inline frame, which means it stays with the surrounding text.

Converting a table into text

To convert an inline table to text:

1	Select the table.
2	Choose Convert To Text from the Table menu.

If you can't choose Convert To Text:
Make sure that the table is inline, then try again.
