Inserting and deleting table cells

Inserting table cells

To insert empty rows or columns, you duplicate existing ones:
1 Select one or more full rows or columns, depending on where you want the new ones to appear. New columns appear to the left of selected cells, and new rows appear above selected cells.
2 Choose Insert Cells from the Table menu.
The number of rows or columns and the cell style, background, and alignment are duplicated. (Cell content is not duplicated.)

If you don't see the Table menu:
Double-click inside a table cell. (If the table is already selected, you need to click only once inside a cell.)

Tip: You can also add cells by using the cutter tool (in the Tools window) to subdivide cells. If the cutter tool is dimmed, double-click the table.

Each line you draw with the cutter tool is a new cell border. After you use the cutter tool to create a new cell, click the table editing tool to return to regular table editing mode.

Deleting table cells

    To delete table cells:
Select the full row(s) or column(s) you want to delete and choose Delete Cells from the Table menu.

    To delete an entire table:
Select the table and press the Delete key.
