About the frame link indicator symbols

In text frames, the frame link indicator symbols tell you which frames are first and last in a series, and indicate when the last frame has more content than it has room to display:
In the first frame, the top link indicator is empty:
In the last frame, the top indicator contains a chain and the bottom link indicator is an arrow:
    Top indicator in last frame
    Bottom indicator in last frame
When the last frame has more content than it has room for, an "x" appears in the lower-right corner:

Note: When the last frame runs out of room, click the bottom link indicator and create another linked frame. The excess content appears in the new linked frame.
