Starting and quitting AppleWorks

    To start AppleWorks:
On the Mac OS Finder desktop, double-click the AppleWorks application icon, located in the AppleWorks 6 folder.
    AppleWorks application icon AppleWorks
    document icon

Tip: You can also start AppleWorks by double-clicking the icon of any document created in AppleWorks, or by dragging the icon of a document AppleWorks can read onto the AppleWorks application icon.

By default, the Starting Points window appears when you start AppleWorks. You can change this preference.

If nothing happens when you double-click the application icon:
AppleWorks may already be open with no documents open. Check that AppleWorks appears in the Application menu (in the upper-right corner of your screen) and has a checkmark to confirm that AppleWorks is open and active.

If a document opens automatically when you start AppleWorks:
The auto-recovery feature of AppleWorks may be opening the file for you. If AppleWorks unexpectedly quits while you are working on a document, AppleWorks reopens that document when you restart AppleWorks.

    To quit AppleWorks:
Choose Quit from the File menu.
