Creating a new layout
To create a layout:

Choose New Layout from the Layout menu or from the layout pop-up menu on the left side of the document window (except in Browse mode). |

Type a name for the layout. |

Select a layout type: |

Standard: Displays all fields in the order you created them, stacked vertically with each on its own line and the field name to the left of the field. |

Duplicate: Creates a new layout exactly like the current layout. |
| |
Blank: Creates an empty layout with no fields (for building a custom layout). |
| |
Columnar report: Arranges selected fields in a format similar to a table, with field names as column heads and records as rows. |

Labels: Arranges the selected fields in a format suitable for printing labels. |

There are special considerations when creating a layout for labels. |

Click OK. |

(For Columnar layouts only): From the Field List, select each field you want to include, then click Move. Fields appear on the layout in the order in which you move them. |

Tip: You can also double-click a field name to move it. |
You can now arrange the fields and field names on the layout or otherwise customize the layout.
Renaming a layout
To rename a layout:

Choose Edit Layouts from the Layout menu or from the layout pop-up menu. |

Select the layout you want to rename and click Modify. |

Type a new name for the layout. |
Deleting a layout
If a database has more than one layout, you can delete layouts you no longer need.
To delete a layout:

Choose Edit Layouts from the Layout menu or from the layout pop-up menu. |
| 2 |
Select the layout you want to delete. |
| 3 |
Click Delete. |
Note: Deleting a layout does not delete any fields or data in the database.
