You can change the name, type, and options or formulas for an existing field at any time.
To change a field definition or formula:

								| 1 | Choose Define Fields from the Layout menu. |

								| 2 | Select a field in the list. |

								| 3 | Make changes: |

								| |

											| | To change the field name, type a new name in the Field Name box and click Modify. |
											| | To change the field type, choose a new type from the pop-up menu and click Modify. |
											| | Note: When you change a field's type, AppleWorks converts as much existing data in the field as possible, and discards any data that can't be converted. For example, if you change a text field to a time field, any existing text in a time format (such as "11:32") will be preserved, but other text (such as "Apple") will be lost. |
											| | To change other field settings, click Options (available for most field types) and specify new settings. |
											| | To change a field's formula (calculation and summary fields only), click Modify and specify a new formula. | |
