Checking the syntax
For your script to work, the terms you use in your script must be written exactly as shown in the dictionary. This is called the "syntax" of the language. You can have the Script Editor check your script for any statements or phrases written incorrectly. To check the syntax of a script in the Script Editor: If the Script Editor finds a syntax error, it highlights that part of the script and displays a dialog box with information about the problem. If there are no syntax errors, the Script Editor formats the script. Related topic
