Stealing scripts

One way to begin automating tasks using AppleScript is to start with an existing script that performs a task similar to the one you want to automate, then experiment with changing it to do what you want.

You can open scripts that have been saved as applications, compiled scripts, or text files.

To open a script saved as an application, do one of the following:
Drag the application icon to the Script Editor icon.
Open the application from within the Script Editor.

If you cannot open a script:
The script may be saved as a run-only script.
