Using the Script Editor

The Script Editor lets you write, record, and test scripts, then save them in one of several formats.

The Script Editor is in the AppleScript folder in the Apple Extras folder on your startup disk.

Open the Script Editor for me.

When you open the Script Editor, it automatically opens a script window so you can record or write a script.

You type the script in the bottom area of the window. You must type AppleScript or application-defined terms that the Script Editor can compile into a script.

You can type anything you want in the Description area. Text in this area appears in the startup screen of the script when you run it as an application.
